Establishment of Dong Nai City
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed and promulgated Resolution No. 30/2026/QH16 of the National Assembly on the establishment of Dong Nai City.
Resolution No. 30/2026/QH16 resolves: To establish Dong Nai City based on the entire natural area and population of Dong Nai Province.
Dong Nai City borders Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong Province, Tay Ninh Province, and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Regarding implementation, the Resolution assigns the Government, People's Council, and People's Committee of Dong Nai Province (People's Council and People's Committee of Dong Nai City from the effective date of this Resolution) and relevant agencies and organizations to implement this Resolution; reorganize and consolidate the apparatus of local agencies and organizations according to regulations; stabilize the lives of local people, and ensure socio-economic development, national defense and security requirements in the area.
Agencies, organizations, and units with names associated with the Dong Nai Province geographic designation shall be renamed to operate under the Dong Nai City designation from the effective date of this Resolution.
Documents and papers issued by competent authorities prior to the effective date of this Resolution that have not expired or are still within their validity period shall continue to be applied and used in accordance with the law until expiration or until they are amended, supplemented, replaced, abolished, annulled, or revoked by competent authorities.
The Resolution states that from its effective date, in addition to policies for centrally governed cities, special mechanisms and policies for Dong Nai Province shall continue to be implemented in Dong Nai City until the end of the application period or until a competent authority decides otherwise.
Resolution No. 30/2026/QH16 takes effect from April 30, 2026.
Establishment of People's Court and People's Procuracy of Dong Nai City
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed and promulgated Resolution No. 252/NQ-UBTVQH16 on the establishment of the People's Court and People's Procuracy of Dong Nai City.
Resolution No. 252/NQ-UBTVQH16 resolves: To establish the People's Court and People's Procuracy of Dong Nai City on the basis of inheriting the People's Court and People's Procuracy of Dong Nai Province.
This Resolution takes effect from April 30, 2026.
Establishment of 10 New Wards in Dong Nai Province
Previously, the National Assembly Standing Committee promulgated Resolution No. 237/NQ-UBTVQH16 on the establishment of 10 wards in Dong Nai Province, including: Trang Bom, Long Thanh, Tri An, Nhon Trach, Tan Khai, Xuan Loc, Tan Phu, Loc Ninh, Dau Giay, and Dong Phu.
Dong Nai Has 33 Wards and 62 Communes
After the establishment of these wards, Dong Nai has 95 commune-level administrative units, consisting of 33 wards and 62 communes.
This Resolution takes effect from April 30, 2026.
